The role
IronThreads is building one of the biggest original activewear catalogs in wrestling — roughly 300 designs across tees, hoodies, and more. Your first mission: 50 launch-ready designs in your first month, then ongoing work building out the rest of the catalog. If you can turn out clean apparel graphics daily and want your work worn by athletes across the US, this is that job.

IronThreads is a US wrestling footwear and apparel brand. We sell to wrestlers, coaches, and fans through our online store, and our designs lean into wrestling culture: grit, competition, and pride in the sport.
What success looks like
Four weeks from now, your first ~50 original designs are launch-ready and define our brand's look — typography pieces, illustrated graphics, vintage-style designs, and wrestling-culture references our customers actually want to wear. Nail the first batch and you're our go-to artist as we build toward 300.
What you'll do
• Design original graphics for activewear — tees, hoodies, shorts, and other apparel — spanning typography, illustration, distressed/vintage, mascot-style, and wrestling-themed art
• Deliver steady volume — 2–3 finished designs per day (50 launch-ready designs in month one, then ongoing toward the 300-design catalog)
• Deliver print-ready files: vector (AI/EPS/SVG) or 300 DPI PNG with transparent background, ready for DTG/screen printing
• Create product mockups for our online store and social media
• Add finished designs to our Shopify store through our print-on-demand platform — we provide a step-by-step Loom video walkthrough, so you're never guessing
• Take direction and revise quickly — you'll get clear feedback on every concept
AI use & ownership (please read before applying)
• AI tools are welcome — for mockups, ideation, and even as part of final designs
• What we won't accept: designs that are completely AI-generated with no human design work. Every final needs your real input — composition, editing, typography, cleanup, print prep. No traced art, no stock graphics, no copied designs. We check.
• All designs and working files are work-for-hire and become the exclusive property of IronThreads. You'll sign an IP assignment agreement at hire. Designs may not be resold, reused, or posted publicly without written permission.
Requirements
• Available full-time and able to start immediately — work from anywhere
• Strong portfolio of apparel graphics — required; applications without a portfolio link will not be reviewed
• Skilled in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (Affinity or Procreate also fine) with clean vector work
• Able to work in multiple styles: bold typography, vintage/distressed, illustrated
• Able to use Shopify and a print-on-demand site (e.g., Printful/Printify) — or pick them up quickly; a Loom walkthrough is provided for adding products to the store
• Good written English and reliable internet
• Some overlap with US Eastern time for check-ins (most work is async)
Nice to have
• Sports, streetwear, or combat-sports design experience
• Print production knowledge (screen-print separations, DTG specs)
• Prior hands-on experience running products through Shopify or a print-on-demand platform (training goes faster)
