Job Description
The Position:
Orchard Media is a commercial video production company creating high-quality video content across some of Australia's most trusted industries — government, healthcare, education, councils, trades and real estate.

Our style is upbeat, dynamic and polished. We don't do average. Every cut is intentional, every project is crafted to the brief, and every finished product needs to be something our clients are genuinely proud of. We work across a broad range of formats — event recaps, corporate videos, website headers, educational content, real estate walkthroughs, promotional videos and social media reels — and we do all of it to a consistently high standard.

We're a small team but we're not a cheap one. We don't push edits out fast and hope for the best. We craft them. If you've worked at agencies that prioritise volume over quality, this will feel like a different world.
We're growing and we're looking for an editor who can grow with us.

The Work:
This is a full-time remote position for a talented commercial video editor who can take a project brief, run with it independently and deliver polished, professional work without needing to be chased.

You'll be editing across a wide variety of commercial projects and industries — from piece to camera and overlay videos to cinematic real estate content and everything in between. No two weeks look the same. What stays the same is the standard — dynamic, engaging and polished every time.

This is not a passive role. We need someone who takes ownership of their edits, communicates proactively and produces work they're genuinely proud of.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Editing a wide range of commercial video projects from raw footage through to final delivery
- Colour grading footage to a polished, professional standard — including working with SLOG footage and LUT-based workflows
- Applying basic motion graphics to enhance storytelling and visual presentation
- Handling audio mixing — background noise removal, compression, and basic sound design
- Working within project briefs to deliver content that is on-brand, on-brief and on-time
- Communicating clearly on project progress and flagging anything that needs direction
- Working within ---------- and project management software for feedback and delivery

What We're Looking For:
A strong technical foundation — you're proficient in Final Cut Pro X (strongly preferred) or Adobe Premiere Pro, comfortable working with SLOG footage, and your colour grading goes beyond slapping a LUT on and calling it done. You understand exposure, white balance, and how to make footage look intentional.

A genuine eye for commercial editing — you understand pacing, energy, and what makes a cut feel dynamic versus flat. You know how to serve a brief without losing your creative instinct.

A high personal standard — you watch your cuts back and you're honest with yourself about whether they're good enough. You don't need to be chased to deliver, and you communicate proactively when something needs direction.

Real versatility — you can shift from an upbeat corporate promo to a slow, cinematic real estate piece and nail both. If you only do one thing well, this isn't the role for you.

Essential Requirements:
- 3+ years of commercial or corporate video editing experience — OR an exceptional junior portfolio that genuinely stops us in our tracks
- Proficiency in Final Cut Pro X (strongly preferred) or Adobe Premiere Pro
- Confident working with SLOG footage
- Solid colour grading and colour correction skills — you understand exposure, white balance, LUTs and how to make footage look intentional
- Basic motion graphics capability
- Competent audio mixing — noise removal, compression, basic sound design
- A strong eye for dynamic, engaging edits that serve the brief
- Ability to work independently and manage your own time without needing to be chased
- Clear, professional communication in English
- Reliable high-speed internet connection suitable for downloading and uploading footage
- A computer capable of running editing workflows efficiently

Bonus points for:
- Advanced colour grading skills — if you're a genuine colourist, tell us
- Advanced audio mixing and sound design
- Experience editing across government, healthcare or education sectors
- Experience with piece to camera formats and cinematic real estate videography
- Experience with a broad range of commercial video formats

Software You'll Be Using:
- Final Cut Pro X or Adobe Premiere Pro
- ----------
- Slack
- Google Drive
- A project management tool is also being implemented — full details provided at onboarding

Working Hours:
This role requires availability during Australian business hours for team communication, feedback and project coordination.

What We Offer:
- Full-time employment via employer of record — you're a real employee with full benefits and legal protections, not a freelancer
- Stable, consistent work across varied and interesting commercial projects
- A creative environment that values craft and intentionality
- Direct access to the company director — we're a small team and communication is open
- Room to grow as the business grows

What Success Looks Like:
Your edits feel like Orchard Media edits. Not a generic corporate video — content that reflects the standard of a studio whose clients trust them across some of Australia's most demanding industries. You take the brief, you take the raw footage, and you build something polished, intentional and genuinely good. Every time.

Employment & Compensation:
This role is offered as full legal employment through an employer of record — not a freelance or contractor arrangement. You will be a registered employee with full statutory benefits including SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG and 13th month pay, fully compliant with Philippine labour law. The salary listed is your base monthly USD salary on top of these benefits.

How to Apply:
Send us the following:
- Your portfolio or showreel — commercial work strongly preferred. Show us your range.
- A brief note (no more than 200 words) on why this role suits you and what kind of work you do best
- Your current editing setup and internet speed
- Your software of choice and a summary of your colour grading workflow
- Your availability to start

Applications without a portfolio will not be considered. Show us your work — that's what this comes down to.
