Job Description
About the Role
The Creator Lane is looking for an experienced Lead Video Editor & Project Manager to oversee our remote editing team and ensure every client project is delivered on time, on brand, and at a consistently high creative standard.
This role sits at the intersection of creative leadership and operational execution. You will manage a team of editors working across multiple client channels, review their work, provide feedback, maintain production standards, and build systems that allow the editing department to scale.
You will be the quality control layer between our editors and our clients: making sure timelines are met, creative direction is followed, files are organized, and every video leaving the team represents the quality The Creator Lane is known for.
If you are an exceptional editor who also enjoys leading people, building workflows, and turning a creative team into a well-run production machine, this role is for you.
What You'll Own:
- Manage and support a remote team of video editors working across multiple client projects
- Working directly with the founder in launching his personal branded channels and establishing his content’s editing style as his lead editor.
- Fill in gaps on editing projects to hit deadlines as needed
- Assign projects, track progress, and ensure all deliverables are completed on schedule
- Review edits for storytelling, pacing, retention, technical quality, and alignment with each client's established brand style
- Provide clear, actionable revision notes and creative feedback to editors
- Maintain consistent editing standards across all channels and client accounts
- Own project organization: file structures, assets, submissions, revisions, and final deliverables
- Monitor production timelines and proactively identify bottlenecks before they impact deadlines
- Create and improve editing workflows, systems, and processes as the team grows
- Collaborate with leadership to refine creative direction and improve output quality
- Step in on priority edits or complex projects when needed
- Help develop editors through feedback, coaching, and creative guidance
- Work directly with founder to share progress updates and take feedback on close to final edits to be completed by editing staff
What You Bring:
- Proven experience as a professional video editor with a strong portfolio
- Previous experience managing, leading, or mentoring a creative team
- Strong understanding of YouTube, social media content, storytelling, and audience retention
- Advanced proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro required; After Effects experience is a plus)
- Strong creative judgment and the ability to identify what makes content engaging
- Exceptional organization and project management skills
- Ability to communicate feedback clearly and respectfully while maintaining high standards
- Experience managing remote workflows and collaborating through digital tools
- A proactive mindset: you don't just identify problems, you build solutions
Requirements:
- Available and responsive during standard U.S. business hours
- Reliable internet and a functional home office setup
- Ability to manage multiple projects, editors, and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
Who Thrives Here
This role is built for someone who understands that great creative teams need more than great editors — they need leadership, systems, and accountability. You are someone who can spot the weak points in a video, give an editor the exact feedback needed to improve it, and build the workflow that prevents the same issues from happening again.
You care about the details: organized project files, clean submissions, clear communication, and deadlines that actually get hit. You enjoy developing people, improving processes, and creating an environment where editors can do their best work.
