Job Description
We are looking for a reliable, experienced Customer Service Agent to handle live chat and email support for a busy travel and ferry booking platform.
You will be responsible for resolving customer inquiries, processing booking changes, resolving booking problems, and providing clear, professional assistance in English. You will not be required to handle phone calls.
Hours: Part-time during the trial period (approximately 20 hours per week). The schedule is fully flexible and will be built around mutual availability. This does not have to follow a strict Monday to Friday pattern.
After 1 month, this could transition into a full time role (40 hours a week). This is intended as a reliable long term arrangement for the right person, not a short term gig. However, Full time is an option, not an expectation. Staying part time long term is equally fine if that suits you better.
Start Date: Immediate
PLEASE READ THE PAY SECTION BEFORE APPLYING. This role is paid on output = answers sent/tickets resolved. There is no hourly rate.

WHAT YOU CAN EARN
=====================================================================
There is no hourly wage and no cap on what you can earn.
You earn between €0.26 and €0.56 for every ticket you resolve (about $0.30 to $0.65), depending on how complex it is. A typical ticket pays about €0.34 (about $0.40).
7 tickets an hour = about EUR 2.35 per hour (approx. $2.75)
9 tickets an hour = about EUR 3.05 per hour (approx. $3.55)
11 tickets an hour = about EUR 3.70 per hour (approx. $4.30)
14 tickets an hour = about EUR 4.70 per hour (approx. $5.45)
16 tickets an hour = about EUR 5.40 per hour (approx. $6.25)
Most agents settle at around 11 to 16 tickets an hour once they know the systems. Earnings depend partly on ticket complexity, so these figures are a guide rather than a guarantee.
These are realistic numbers, not best case ones. The middle and upper rows are where agents actually work once they are past the learning curve. The trial minimum is set deliberately below that, because you will still be learning the systems and the templates.
There is no shortage of tickets. There is always work waiting during your hours, so what you earn depends on how much you get through, not on how busy the platform you will work on happens to be that day.
Every ticket you resolve is logged in a platform. Your work is recorded ticket by ticket, so that can always be verified. Nothing rests on anyone's word or memory.
Paid WEEKLY, for the week just finished, in EUROS, to an account in your own name. The payment method is agreed before you start.

STAGES
=====================================================================
1. TRAINING
One paid session of four hours, at EUR 2.60 per hour (about $3.00), paid in two instalments across your first month.
2. TRIAL
Seven working days, four hours a day. By the end of it you should be resolving at least 7 to 9 tickets an hour, which works out at about EUR 2.35 to EUR 3.05 an hour (about $2.75 to $3.55).
3. EVALUATION
About one month at around 20 hours a week, working to a minimum of 10 to 11 tickets an hour, about EUR 3.40 to EUR 3.70 an hour (about $3.90 to $4.30). Full time hours can be discussed during this period itself if you are hitting the targets and the quality is there.
4. ONGOING
Up to 40 hours a week on a long term basis. Full time is an option, not an expectation. Staying part time long term is equally fine if that suits you better.
The ticket figures above are MINIMUM PERFORMANCE LEVELS, not guaranteed earnings. You are paid for what you resolve.
Nothing is automatic. Moving to the next stage is agreed in writing, and you will always know where you stand.
This is meant to be a reliable long term arrangement, not a short term gig. The stages exist so that we both know it works before either of us commits to it. For the right person who gets through them, the aim is steady ongoing hours over the long run, not a few weeks of cover.

HOURS
=====================================================================
This role runs on UK business hours, because customers are in Europe. The working window is 10am to 8pm UK time, and you choose a consistent block of at least four hours inside it. You are not expected to be available for the whole window.
Manila is 7 hours ahead of the UK until late October, and 8 hours ahead after that. The window in Manila time:
Now until late October: 5pm to 3am
From late October: 6pm to 4am
Please only apply if a four hour block inside that window suits you long term, remembering that it shifts by an hour in late October. The window can be reviewed later on for the right person.
Inside it the schedule is fully flexible and built around mutual availability. It does not have to follow a Monday to Friday pattern. Hours are agreed in writing each week and confirmed several days ahead.
START DATE: IMMEDIATE. Candidates available within the next few days will be prioritised.
=====================================================================
WHAT YOU WILL DO
=====================================================================
• Respond to customer inquiries via live chat and email promptly and professionally.
• Resolve issues related to travel bookings, cancellations, modifications, and general platform support.
• Follow guidelines, templates, and quality standards according to the knowledge base provided to ensure consistent service.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all written communications.
• Connect via secure remote desktop software (AnyDesk) during agreed working hours. You will connect to one of our computers/machines and work from that.
=====================================================================
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
=====================================================================
Experience: Proven experience in live chat and email customer support (experience in travel/tourism, hospitality, or e-commerce is a strong advantage). Candidates without customer support experience will be rejected.
Language: Excellent written English with a professional, empathetic tone.
Technical Setup: A reliable, fast internet connection and a dedicated, quiet workspace.
Experience with Intercom is a strong advantage, though not essential — candidates familiar with any major live chat platform (Zendesk, Freshdesk, or similar) are welcome to apply.
Availability: You must have a consistent block of at least 4 hours available per day on your agreed working days, with no conflicting commitments. Exact days and hours will be agreed with the successful candidate.
Pace: You must be comfortable working at pace and handling multiple customer conversations simultaneously.
Remote Access: You must be comfortable working via remote desktop software (AnyDesk). You will connect and control one of our computers.
Availability to Start: Immediate start preferred. Candidates who are available to begin within the next few days will be prioritised.
Proof of experience : A Certificate of Employment, or equivalent written proof, covering the most recent roles listed in your CV. This is required before any work begins. Please do not apply if you cannot obtain it.
Identification: A valid government issued ID is required before any work begins. A PhilSys National ID, Passport, driver's licence, UMID or PRC ID is fine.
Security: A strong understanding of data confidentiality. You must be willing to sign a strict Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before commencing work.
Confidentiality. You will handle real customer data belonging to third parties. A confidentiality agreement must be signed before you start, and it is enforced.
=====================================================================
WHAT YOU GET
=====================================================================
- A flexible schedule inside the hours window, agreed with you every week
- Paid weekly rather than monthly, so you are never waiting a month for work you have already done
- No cap on earnings. The faster and more accurate you get, the more you make
- Written support only. No phone calls
- You deal directly with one person, not a call centre floor
- Honest feedback whenever you ask for it, and a route to full time hours if you want them
