About Roger Advisory Services

Roger Advisory Services is a growing U.S.-based accounting, tax, and advisory firm headquartered in Florida.

We provide bookkeeping, payroll, tax compliance, tax preparation support, and Fractional CFO services to clients in industries including restaurants, real estate, professional services, dental practices, retail businesses, and nonprofit organizations.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our accounting team remotely on a full-time basis.
This is not a basic virtual bookkeeping or data-entry position.

We need an accountant who understands U.S. accounting, payroll, financial statements, balance sheets, compliance deadlines, QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, and modern AI tools—and who can work independently after training.

What You Will Be Responsible For

The Senior Accountant will handle accounting responsibilities for multiple U.S. business clients, including:
-Full-cycle bookkeeping
-Bank and credit-card reconciliations
-Month-end and year-end close
-General-ledger review
-Balance-sheet reconciliations
-Balance-sheet cleanup
-Financial-statement preparation and review
-Journal entries and adjusting entries
-Accounts payable and accounts receivable
-Payroll processing
-Payroll setup in QuickBooks Desktop
-Payroll-accounting entries
-Payroll-liability reconciliation
-Payroll-tax adjustments and corrections
-Federal and state payroll compliance
-Sales-tax preparation and filings
-Florida sales tax
-New York sales tax
-1099 preparation
-Accounting cleanup projects
-Preparing client books for tax preparation
-Maintaining accounting documentation
-Managing recurring deadlines through ClickUp
-Working with our CFO and accounting associates
-QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online migrations
-Using ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI tools for accounting research, problem-solving, analysis, and financial reporting
-Assisting the CFO with financial-report presentations, management summaries, and client-facing financial analysis

U.S. Tax & Accounting Knowledge

You will not initially be responsible for preparing income-tax returns; however, you must understand how bookkeeping ultimately flows into U.S. tax returns.

Candidates should understand the accounting fundamentals associated with:
-Form 1120S – S Corporations
-Form 1065 – Partnerships
-Form 1120 – C Corporations
-Schedule C – Sole Proprietorships
-Schedule E – Rental Real Estate

Future opportunities may include greater involvement in tax preparation depending on your experience and performance.

QuickBooks Desktop Experience Is Mandatory

We specifically need someone with strong QuickBooks Desktop experience.

You should be comfortable with more than transaction entry.

-You must understand:
-Company setup
-Chart-of-accounts structure
-Payroll setup
-Employee setup
-Payroll processing
-Payroll liabilities
-Journal entries
-Financial statements
-Balance-sheet cleanup
-Bank reconciliations
-Troubleshooting accounting discrepancies
-Historical corrections
-QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online conversions
-Strong QuickBooks Online experience is also required.

AI & Technology Experience

Roger Advisory Services believes accountants should know how to combine strong accounting fundamentals with modern technology.

Experience with ChatGPT and Claude is strongly preferred.

We are particularly interested in accountants who know how to use AI effectively for:

-Researching complex accounting questions
-Investigating unusual account balances
-Brainstorming possible causes of reconciliation discrepancies
-Researching payroll-tax and sales-tax issues
-Reviewing financial trends
-Analyzing financial statements
-Developing management-report commentary
-Creating executive financial summaries
-Assisting with financial-report presentations
-Turning accounting data into clear explanations for business owners
-Improving SOPs, workflows, checklists, and internal controls
-Supporting the CFO with financial analysis

Candidates should understand the difference between using AI intelligently and blindly accepting AI-generated answers.
All accounting conclusions, calculations, tax information, and recommendations must be independently reviewed and verified before being relied upon.

Required Qualifications
-Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
-Significant experience working with U.S. companies
-Previous experience with a U.S. accounting, bookkeeping, tax, or CPA firm strongly preferred
-Advanced QuickBooks Desktop experience
-Advanced QuickBooks Online experience
-Strong knowledge of U.S. accounting principles
-Strong balance-sheet knowledge
-Payroll-accounting experience
-Payroll-tax knowledge
-Month-end close experience
-Financial-statement preparation experience
-Ability to independently investigate accounting discrepancies
-Experience managing multiple clients simultaneously
-Strong organizational skills
-Excellent written and spoken English
-Excellent professional communication
-Strong attention to detail
-Ability to meet deadlines without continuous reminders
-Ability to work independently after training
-Ability to collaborate with a CFO and other accounting associates
-Comfortable using ClickUp or similar task-management systems
-Comfortable using ChatGPT, Claude, and other modern productivity tools

CPA, EA, or equivalent professional accounting credentials are strongly preferred.
Exceptional candidates without a professional license may be considered if they have substantial experience working in a U.S. accounting or CPA firm.

Work Schedule
This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position, Monday through Friday.
The employee may perform part of the work during their local daytime hours; however, there must be a minimum of four working hours each day that overlap with U.S. Eastern Time business hours.
Regular communication with our Florida team is required.

First 30 Days
The first month will focus on:
-Learning our clients
-Understanding our accounting procedures
-Learning our ClickUp workflows
-Understanding our review standards
-Learning how our team uses AI and technology
-Working with our CFO and accounting team
-Demonstrating technical accounting ability
-Demonstrating reliability and organization

Initially, client communication will remain primarily with firm leadership.
After approximately 30 days, once the accountant demonstrates strong technical knowledge and understanding of our systems, direct client communication will become part of the role.

After the Initial Period
The Senior Accountant will be expected to communicate professionally with clients regarding:
-Missing documents
-Bank and credit-card information
-Bookkeeping questions
-Payroll questions
-Transaction clarification
-Outstanding accounting items
-Reconciliation discrepancies
-Financial-reporting questions
-Other information required to complete accounting work
-Strong spoken and written English is therefore essential.

The Type of Accountant We Want
We are not looking for someone who waits for instructions for every task.
We want someone who thinks like an accountant and uses technology intelligently.
When an account does not reconcile, investigate it.
When a balance-sheet balance looks unusual, question it.
When payroll liabilities are incorrect, determine why.
When documentation is missing, follow up.
When a deadline is approaching, take ownership of it.
When a complex accounting problem arises, use your accounting knowledge first and leverage tools such as ChatGPT and Claude to accelerate research, explore potential solutions, and organize your analysis.
Then verify the answer before acting on it.
Our firm has systems, recurring deadlines, ClickUp workflows, a CFO, accounting support, and modern AI tools.
We will train you on how Roger Advisory Services operates.
We will not, however, continuously retrain someone on fundamental accounting responsibilities.

Career Growth
This is intended to be a long-term position.
Strong performers will have opportunities to:
-Manage their own portfolio of U.S. accounting clients
-Work more closely with our CFO
-Participate in client meetings
-Assist with higher-level financial reporting
-Prepare financial-analysis presentations and management reports
-Help train or review junior bookkeeping staff
-Become involved in tax-return preparation
-Participate in Fractional CFO engagements
-Grow into a larger accounting-management role as the firm expands

Compensation
$1,800–$2,200 USD per month, depending on U.S. accounting experience, credentials, QuickBooks expertise, communication skills, AI proficiency, and technical ability.

Exceptional CPA-level candidates with significant U.S. accounting-firm experience and advanced payroll, QuickBooks Desktop, AI, and client-management experience may be considered at a higher compensation level.
