Senior accounts officer | Full time remote | USD $12/hour

We are an Australian engineering and construction company looking for an experienced Accounts Officer to join our team full time.

This is not an entry level position. We are looking for someone with at least 5 years of hands on accounting and bookkeeping experience who is confident managing the day to day accounts function with minimal supervision.

You should have solid experience with:

• Accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Invoicing and following up outstanding accounts
• Payroll preparation and processing
• Bank and account reconciliations
• Supplier invoices and payments
• Purchase orders and expense management
• Work in progress (WIP) and understanding how WIP affects monthly accounts
• Job costing and tracking project costs against budgets
• Preparing accounts information for management
• GST and basic Australian accounting requirements
• Working with accountants and management at month end
• Xero or similar accounting software
• Excel and Google Sheets

Experience working with an Australian construction, engineering, trade or project based business would be highly regarded.

Hours and working environment

This is a full time position at USD $12 per hour.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm AEST, with a one hour lunch break.

We operate through ---------- , which is our virtual office. You will be expected to be online and available in ---------- throughout your working hours, just as you would be present in a physical office.

All working hours are tracked through Hubstaff.

Good communication and reliability are essential. We need someone who is available during their agreed hours and comfortable communicating directly with management and the wider team.
