Job Description
Social Media Content Creator (Canva + Basic Video Editing) — Part-Time, Outcome-Based, Overseas Market
MyIT Tutor | Remote | Part-Time, Independent Contractor | Starting Rate: HK$1,500/month (≈ ₱12,000 / US$190 — invoiced monthly, negotiable based on output)
About the Role
MyIT Tutor is an online one-to-one tutoring company expanding its presence internationally. We're looking for a creative, reliable and organised Social Media Content Creator to join our marketing team and produce consistent, high-quality social content across Instagram, Facebook and YouTube (with LinkedIn where relevant).
This is a part-time, outcome-based role — we care about the content you deliver, not hours logged or a fixed schedule. Do the agreed work well and on time, and how/when you do it is up to you. If your throughput is strong and efficient, there's room to grow the rate and the workload over time.
This is a content production role — you won't be setting marketing strategy. Instead, our marketing/SEO team will hand you clear briefs, campaign ideas and content themes, and you'll turn them into polished, on-brand, platform-ready social assets. If you love taking a brief and making it look great — rather than deciding the strategy yourself — this is for you.
Our audience is international, not the Philippines — you'll be creating content for parents, students and tutors in our overseas markets, adapting to their local curriculum and exam context, so research skills and adaptability matter as much as design polish.
We're looking for someone who wants a long-term, ongoing role and is happy to grow with the company over time — this isn't a short-term or one-off project.
What You'll Be Doing
• Create static posts, carousels, educational graphics, testimonials and short-form Reels/video for Instagram, Facebook and YouTube
• Turn marketing briefs (topic, audience, key message) into finished, polished assets — e.g. a 4–6 slide Instagram carousel with supporting graphics, caption and CTA
• Repurpose existing content: turn blogs, lesson reports and long-form video into social posts, Reels and Shorts
• Write on-brand captions, hooks and calls-to-action for parent-, student- and tutor-facing audiences
• Basic video editing: cut Reels/Shorts from raw footage, add subtitles and simple text overlays, resize for different platforms
• Adapt content to our overseas markets' local exam/curriculum context (e.g. Maths, English, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Accounting) rather than reusing material unchanged
• Follow our established brand colours, fonts, logo and visual identity consistently
• Work from an agreed content calendar and hit production deadlines
• Keep design files, videos and assets clearly organised and version-labelled
• Take feedback well and make accurate, efficient revisions
What We're Looking For
Essential:
• Strong written English
• Competent in at least two other internationally used languages, in addition to English
• Confident, professional design skills in Canva
• A genuine portfolio of social media/content work you've personally created
• Ability to create professional Instagram posts and carousels
• Strong visual judgement and attention to detail
• Ability to follow an established brand identity precisely (not introduce your own style)
• Ability to work accurately from a creative brief
• Reliable, consistent, and responsive communication
• Comfortable working to deadlines and providing status updates
Nice to Have:
• Reels/Shorts editing experience (CapCut or similar)
• Experience creating content for education, tutoring or EdTech brands
• Copywriting experience
• Basic understanding of social media analytics
• Experience working with a content calendar
• Experience working with international/overseas brands or clients
Tools You'll Use
Canva · CapCut (or equivalent) · Google Drive/Docs/Sheets · basic scheduling tools
Working Arrangement
• Outcome-based, not hours-based — we're paying for agreed deliverables done well and on time, not for time logged
• No fixed daily schedule — organise your own time as long as deadlines are hit
• Meetings and check-ins scheduled at times that work for both sides
• Rate and workload can grow over time for someone who's efficient, reliable, and easy to work with
Recruitment Process
1. Application & portfolio review — we'll assess your existing, previously published work
2. Video interview — communication, English, and a walkthrough of your own past work
3. Final interview — role fit, availability, and rate/contract terms
How to Apply
Send your CV and a portfolio link (Canva/Instagram/Behance/Drive folder — whatever shows real, finished work you've personally created, not templates or mockups). Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.
