Job Description
Sourcing & Procurement Specialist — Paid Test Task Included
I need one thing from you: bring me a better price than I can find myself.
The role, long term:
- Source products across three lanes: China, UAE/Gulf, and local suppliers
- Negotiate price, MOQ, payment terms, and free samples
- Vet suppliers: business license, years operating, audit reports, references
- Confirm certifications and import requirements for the destination market
- Maintain a live supplier database and landed-cost comparison sheet
- Flag risks early: long lead times, unstable pricing, customs problems
What I actually care about:
Not how many suppliers you can list. Anyone can send twenty Alibaba links.
I care how far you move a price after the first quote, and whether the
supplier you picked is still reliable on the third order.
Paid test task (I pay for it whether or not I hire you):
I'll send you one real product. You return, within 48 hours:
- 3 verified suppliers with quotes
- MOQ, lead time, and payment terms for each
- Full landed cost per unit
- Your recommendation and the reason behind it
- A short note on what you asked to move the price, and what you got
Pay: hourly during a paid two-week trial, then a fixed monthly rate.
To apply, start your message with ANCHOR and answer:
1. A negotiation you're proud of. I want three specific things:
- The opening price you were quoted
- The price you actually closed at
- What you gave up to get it (volume? payment terms? longer lead time?)
Write the actual numbers. "I negotiated a better price" or "I reduced
the unit cost significantly" with no figures = I skip your application.
If you can't remember exact numbers, give me your closest estimate and
say it's an estimate. That's fine. Vagueness is not.
2. A supplier that went wrong on you. What was the warning sign you missed?
3. Which of the three lanes (China / Gulf / local) is your strongest, and which
would you rather not handle? Honest answers rank higher than "all of them."
4. Your hourly rate and daily availability.
