Part-Time Legal Counsel / Legal Support – California Business Matters

US Power | Remote – Philippines | Part-Time

US Power, a California-based solar, roofing, and battery company, is seeking an experienced, responsive legal professional for ongoing support to our ownership and operations team.

We need someone who provides clear, practical recommendations, follows through, and helps address legal risks before they escalate.

California Bar admission is strongly preferred. Philippine-licensed attorneys with substantial experience supporting California attorneys or U.S. businesses are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:
Review and prepare contracts, business agreements, demand letters, and settlement correspondence
Support commercial disputes, collections, arbitration, and pre-litigation matters
Review employment and independent contractor agreements and policies
Research California statutes, regulations, and case law
Organize evidence, documentation, and timelines for disputes
Coordinate with outside California counsel and track follow-ups and deadlines
Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion

Scope will depend on licensing: Applicants not authorized to practice California law will perform research, drafting, and litigation support under appropriate California attorney supervision—not independently provide California legal advice or representation.

Qualifications:
Current attorney license in good standing
Demonstrated California/U.S. legal experience
Background in contracts, business disputes, employment law, or litigation support
Excellent legal research, drafting, and English communication skills
Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working directly with senior management
Prompt communication, dependable follow-through, and proactive updates are essential

Schedule & Compensation:

Part-time, remote from the Philippines, with availability during agreed-upon U.S. Pacific Time business hours.

Competitive monthly compensation based on experience, licensing, scope, and availability. We are seeking a long-term working relationship.
